Job description

Description
The Public Programs Department is seeking an intern to join a professional, collaborative, and fast-paced work environment. The intern will assist with all aspects of public programming for adult audiences, including program research, planning, communications, event logistics, and administrative support. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in museum programming and learn about the development and execution of public-facing historical and cultural programs.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Conducting research for upcoming events
  • Assisting with preparing event materials
  • Assisting with event set-up and check-in
  • Ticket processing and customer service
  • Community engagement and promotional outreach

Hours during the week are flexible, but the intern must be available to work one or more evenings per week.
The Fall 2026 program will run from Monday, October 5, through Friday, December 11, 2026. Interns must be available for events on the following dates: October 5, October 28, November 18, and December 9.
The intern in this position will receive an hourly rate of $17.00 for the part-time, 120-hour program.
Qualifications
We require excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to projects.
