Job Title: Design Engineer – CREO & Chassis Design

Location: Augusta, GA (Onsite)
Experience: 5+ Years
Employment Type: contract 6-12 months

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Engineer with over 5 years of hands-on expertise in CREO and Chassis Design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end design and development of automotive chassis systems, ensuring optimal performance, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop chassis components and systems (frames, suspensions, mounting brackets, cross members, etc.) using PTC CREO.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Perform tolerance stack-ups, design for manufacturability (DFM), and design for assembly (DFA).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, testing, and simulation to ensure design feasibility.
  • Create and manage detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
  • Conduct design reviews and implement feedback from stakeholders.
  • Support prototype builds, validation, and root cause analysis of design issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain design documentation and adhere to version control protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in CREO (preferably CREO 4.0 or later).
  • Proven experience in automotive chassis design (commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles, or passenger cars).
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal, weldments, casting, and fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5 standards) and tolerance analysis.
  • Knowledge of materials commonly used in chassis systems (steel, aluminum, composites).
  • Good understanding of FEA results and ability to incorporate feedback into designs.
  • Experience working in PLM environments (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter).

Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to simulation tools like ANSYS or HyperMesh.
  • Knowledge of global vehicle safety and design standards.
  • Experience with prototype testing and validation.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
