The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive understanding of various therapeutic modalities and specializes in psychoeducation and relationship counseling.

About the Organization

Freedom Psychotherapy Services is a community health clinic located in Elizabeth, New Jersey, dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for diverse populations. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and collaborative environment for both our staff and our clients. Our mission is to offer compassionate, evidence-based therapy that empowers individuals and families to achieve personal growth and healing.

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of a fully remote work setting, allowing you to manage your own workspace while being part of a close-knit team committed to mental health care. You will collaborate with colleagues across different specialties, leveraging technology to conduct virtual sessions and participate in team meetings. Our clinic fosters professional development and encourages therapists to stay abreast of the latest techniques in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments to evaluate clientsโ€™ mental health status and needs, utilizing intake forms and structured interviews.
  • Gather comprehensive patient history to inform treatment plans, including family dynamics, previous therapy experiences, and relevant medical history.
  • Provide individualized therapy sessions, along with group and family therapy, addressing specific challenges related to relationships, parenting, and communication.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that align with evidence-based practices and the specific needs of each client.
  • Regularly document patient progress in a structured format, adhering to clinical guidelines and contributing to continuous care improvements for all clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Freedom Psychotherapy Services, you will work primarily with adults, couples, and families facing a spectrum of challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. Our client demographic is diverse, reflecting the rich cultural fabric of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.
  • A valid and active LMFT license in good standing.
  • Certification in one or more therapeutic modalities (such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, etc.) is preferable.
  • At least one year of post-licensure clinical experience in a therapy setting, demonstrating competence and confidence in therapeutic practices.
  • Bilingual communication skills are a significant advantage, enabling you to connect with a broader client base.
Preferred Experience

While a minimum of one year of post-licensure experience is required, candidates with additional experience in specialized treatment areas, such as trauma-informed therapy, narrative therapy, or working with LGBTQ+ families, are highly desirable. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and remote therapy practice is also beneficial.
