A psychology assistant aides a licensed psychologist in the care of patients. Psychology assistants are not licensed to provide therapy or work independently; they serve patients under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. As a psychology assistant, your responsibilities and duties include assisting with new patient intake, conducting assessments, and aiding in research. Because psychologists need a master's degree or a doctorate, many people with bachelor's degrees in psychology become psychology assistants to determine if they would like to continue on this career path.

A Psychology Assistant supports licensed psychologists by helping collect data, administer psychological tests, and manage documentation related to patient care and research. They may also assist in conducting interviews, scoring assessments, and preparing reports under supervision.
