What is a temporary psychology job?

A temporary psychology job is a short-term position in the field of psychology, often filled to cover staff absences, increased workload, or specific projects. These roles can be found in schools, hospitals, research institutions, clinics, or private practices. Temporary psychologists may conduct assessments, provide therapy, assist with research, or offer support services depending on the job setting. Such positions are ideal for gaining experience or flexibility before committing to permanent roles.

What types of projects or assignments can I expect in a temporary psychology role?

In a temporary psychology position, you may be assigned to a wide range of projects depending on the organization's needs. Common assignments include administering psychological assessments, assisting with research studies, providing short-term support to clients, or helping to develop program materials. Temporary psychologists often collaborate with permanent staff, offering fresh perspectives and filling in during staff transitions or peak workload periods. This role can provide valuable experience in different settings, such as schools, clinics, or research institutions, and offers opportunities to expand your professional network.
