Assumes responsibility for providing confidential individual and group counseling/psychotherapy, assessment, and crisis intervention services. Develops individual client therapy plans. Provides supervision to trainees and serves on training committee. May take on coordinator roles such as group coordinator, outreach coordinator, training director, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in Psychology or Counseling Psychology. Licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice in Ohio, which could include being in final year of doctoral supervision toward licensure. Interest in working with a college student population. Experience and interest in working with various clients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate from an APA accredited doctoral program
  • Doctoral internship from an APA accredited internship site
  • Experience providing supervision
  • Experience working with a college student population
  • Experience working in a university/college counseling center
  • Experience with short-term therapy
  • Experience and interest in working with various clients.
  • Experience in outreach or prevention work
  • Experience in crisis response or urgent appointments
  • Experience in providing group therapy
  • Independent licensure as psychologist
  • Strong case formulation, assessment, and treatment skills in working clinically with various clients, issues and levels of impairment.
  • Ability to collaborate collegially with a multidisciplinary staff, both within the Counseling Center and throughout the University community.
  • Ability to effectively utilize an electronic medical records system
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Ability to interact professionally with all internal and external customers using strong customer service skills.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
