They may fill in for permanent staff during leaves of absence, work on specific projects, or help manage increased caseloads. Temporary psychologists work in various settings, including hospitals, schools, clinics, or private practices, and their duties are similar to those of permanent psychologists. This role is ideal for professionals seeking flexible work arrangements or diverse experience across different environments.

Can a psychologist work remotely?

Psychologists can work remotely, especially in roles such as telepsychology or online therapy, which have become more common with advancements in secure video conferencing tools. However, licensure requirements and state regulations may restrict remote practice across different regions, and some settings may require in-person sessions or assessments.

These roles typically involve supporting licensed psychologists and may require basic knowledge of mental health practices and good communication skills.
