Location: Grove City, Ohio
Position Type: Locum | Physician - Hematology Oncology
Overview
A fully integrated cancer center is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Hematology Oncology physician for locum coverage starting ASAP. This is a primarily outpatient opportunity with strong multidisciplinary support and minimal inpatient burden.
Practice Highlights
Outpatient cancer center with 12 exam rooms (9 dedicated to medical oncology)
Infusion center with 16 infusion chairs and 2 private infusion rooms
Multidisciplinary team including APPs, RN Navigators, Social Workers, Dieticians, Oncology Pharmacist, Genetics, and Research services
Fully integrated onsite cancer center with coordinated patient care
No required procedures
Strong collaboration with radiation oncology, surgery, and hospital teams
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive outpatient Hematology and Medical Oncology care
Manage new consults (30-45 minutes) and follow-ups (15-20 minutes)
Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and coordination
Inpatient care supported by APPs
Minimal inpatient responsibilities
Schedule & Coverage
Start Date: ASAP (March start preferred)
Assignment length: Through June initially, with potential extension
Clinic hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Full-time preferred; part-time (minimum 2 days/week) considered if available for patient-related calls
After-hours answering service handles routine calls; only urgent calls escalated
Weekend call compensated separately
Candidate Requirements
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology Oncology - Required
Active Ohio Medical License - Required (IMLC not accepted due to urgent need)
Clean malpractice and background - Required
Self-Query NPDB - Required
Comfortable working in multidisciplinary team environment - Required
International graduates welcome if ABMS certified
Long-term assignment interest preferred
