Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor to join our dedicated team. This full-time position offers the unique opportunity to provide vital mental health support to individuals in correctional settings. Work Environment

This position is remote, allowing for flexibility while you engage with clients in a community health clinic setting. As a part of our passionate and diverse team, you will collaborate with other mental health professionals and colleagues within the correctional system, ensuring a seamless continuum of care for your clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and ongoing assessments to determine each individual's needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate optimal mental health care.
  • Lead group therapy sessions for clients in mental health observation units, creating a supportive atmosphere that encourages recovery and personal growth.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of client interactions and progress in compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Engage in clinical supervision sessions weekly, working closely with a Clinical Supervisor to enhance clinical skills and ensure best practices are adhered to.
  • Participate in case conferences, providing input on treatment strategies and helping shape comprehensive care plans.
  • Contribute to institutional strategies by coordinating care with other programs within the correctional system to ensure holistic support for clients.
  • Supervise social work interns or volunteers as assigned, offering mentorship and guidance to emerging professionals within the field.
  • Conduct psychological testing as required, adding depth to your assessments and assisting in the formulation of informed treatment approaches.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Licensed Mental Health Counselor will primarily work with incarcerated individuals facing various behavioral problems, substance use challenges, and severe mental health issues. Our aim is to provide these clients with the resources and support necessary to address their challenges and facilitate their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

Qualifications
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California.
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in providing direct client care in a behavioral health or mental health setting.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with conducting comprehensive assessments and developing treatment strategies, particularly for individuals with complex psychological profiles.
  • Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and methodologies tailored to high-risk populations such as those in correctional environments.
  • Experience working in inpatient or residential treatment facilities and related environments to enhance client care.
