Job description

Senior Linux Systems Administrator

This position is open with a company in the space industry that is looking for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to administer our Red Hat Linux systems, Dell switches, AWS environment, Azure, Openshift and Ansible environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for attaining and maintaining CMMC Level 2 compliance
  • Administration of Red Hat Linux systems, Dell switches, AWS environment, Azure, Openshift and Ansible environment
  • Explore and integrate new technologies, transitioning operations from traditional administration and deployment to infrastructure as application leveraging automation/configuration management technologies.
  • Daily maintenance/administration of multiple production systems
  • Prepare for new product related releases and assists with new initiatives and upgrades
  • Work with our product development team to implement and support client offerings
  • Installation, set up, configuration and maintenance of Kubernetes Build Environment, Openshift, Proxmox Virtualization Environment, PFSense Firewalls, and Database Servers
  • Assists with Back‐ups and recovery
  • Configuration and maintenance of the monitoring system
  • Occasional work after hours or weekends at our co‐location facility
  • Respond to alerts issued by our monitoring systems

Requirements:

  • 7+ years' experience in a Systems Administrator role
    • Familiarity with CMMC and NIST 800-171 preferred
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix administration and understanding of code and script (Bash or Python)
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Kubernetes/Containers.
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using Ansible
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite Server and Ansible Tower preferred
