Team Overview
The Data Analysis team is responsible for evaluating new and existing data assets that can be leveraged across TransUnion products and services. The team plays a critical role in identifying data opportunities, assessing business value, and supporting product innovation by determining how data can enhance customer solutions, improve product performance, and drive revenue growth. The team partners closely with Product, Data Acquisition, Solutions, and Technology stakeholders to maximize the value of enterprise data assets and support TransUnion's data-driven growth strategy. This role reports to Vie President of Strategic Planning. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview and Core Responsibilities
  • Lead a high-performing team responsible for evaluating new and existing data assets for use across TransUnion products and services.
  • Oversee end-to-end assessment of alternative and traditional data sources, including planning, execution, coverage analysis, quality validation, and business value determination.
  • Develop and standardize scalable due diligence methodologies including data profiling, coverage analysis, gap analysis, lift analysis, and simulation testing.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into actionable insights that influence product strategy, business decisions, and revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Partner with Product, Data Acquisition, Solutions, and Technology teams to identify and prioritize opportunities that enhance existing products and support new offerings.
  • Drive enterprise data quality initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities and implementing best practices across data management processes.
  • Support data onboarding, cataloging, and analysis activities within the OneTru platform.
  • Establish and maintain standards for data governance, data lineage, access controls, and lifecycle management.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that influence data investment decisions and enterprise data strategy.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Required Knowledge and Experiences
  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics, data strategy, product analytics, data acquisition, or related disciplines with demonstrated success driving business outcomes through data.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience managing analytical or data-focused teams and establishing priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
  • Experience evaluating new and existing data assets and determining business value through analytical frameworks and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, lineage, and lifecycle management principles and their impact on business outcomes.
  • Experience partnering with Product, Business, and Technology teams to translate business needs into structured data requirements and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analytical findings to executive and non-technical audiences and influence strategic decisions.
  • Experience identifying, evaluating, and commercializing emerging datasets.

Required Technical Skills
  • Demonstrated ability querying and analyzing data using SQL, Python, Bitquery (preferred), and large-scale data extraction techniques.
  • Experience utilizing analytical and visualization tools to evaluate data assets and deliver insights to business stakeholders.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms, data cataloging solutions, and data onboarding processes.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, governance, and lineage frameworks.
  • Experience applying analytical methodologies such as coverage analysis, gap analysis, lift analysis, simulation modeling, and data profiling.

Pay Scale Information:
The pay range for this position is $90,000.00 - $168,750 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual's education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations. Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion's annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
