Job description

Manufacturing Operator – 8 Hour

Department: Operations

Reports To: Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Date: 11/04/2025

Position Overview

The Tempe Manufacturing Operator – 8 Hour performs electro-mechanical assembly, testing, and packaging of ProTek Devices’ surge protection products. Work must meet both internal and customer specifications to ensure product quality, reliability, and adherence to company standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

☒ No regularly assigned supervisory responsibilities

☒ Follows written and verbal instructions or established guidelines

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required

Required Skills:

1. Previous electronic assembly and testing experience preferred.

2. Ability to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.

3. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.

4. Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).

5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members.

6. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.

7. Proficient in completing accurate and detailed paperwork.

8. Good manual dexterity and hand–eye coordination.

9. Excellent vision and attention to detail.

Essential Functions

1. Prepare parts and subcomponents using manual or automated equipment.

2. Assemble electro-mechanical parts using approved manufacturing equipment and processes.

3. Perform electrical and mechanical testing for product reliability and quality.

4. Set up and calibrate electrical, mechanical, and computerized test equipment per product requirements.

5. Operate ovens and thermal processing equipment.

6. Perform solder-dip operations, including equipment setup.

7. Perform welding and epoxy assembly as required.

8. Mix and apply epoxy according to established procedures.

9. Clean components using isopropyl alcohol and approved cleaning processes.

10. Mark components using laser-marking equipment.

11. Use microscopes and other inspection tools to identify defects.

12. Complete required production and test paperwork accurately.

13. Generate test reports using Microsoft Word or equivalent software when required.

14. Package products and prepare shipments following company guidelines.

15. Follow and comply with all company safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.

16. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and operational goals.
