Job description

Orthotic & Prosthetic Fabrication TechnicianHelp Improve Lives Through Innovation, Craftsmanship, and Compassionate Care

Methodist Rehabilitation is seeking a skilled and motivated Orthotic & Prosthetic Fabrication Technician to join our Orthotics & Prosthetics team. In this hands-on role, you will work alongside certified clinicians to fabricate, repair, and maintain custom orthotic and prosthetic devices that help patients regain mobility, function, and independence.

What You'll Do
  • Fabricate, repair, modify, and finish custom orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  • Measure and fit patients for basic orthotic and prosthetic soft goods and venous pumps.
  • Assist certified clinicians during patient fittings, adjustments, and follow-up appointments.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, vacuum-forming equipment, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain inventory of fabrication materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and tools.
  • Keep the fabrication lab clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Support the Orthotics & Prosthetics team with additional duties as assigned.

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate from an Orthotic/Prosthetic Technical School preferred.
  • Previous experience in an accredited Orthotic and Prosthetic facility is preferred.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, or other mechanical tools is highly desirable.
Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and fabrication specifications.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Visual acuity required for detailed fabrication and repair work.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with clinicians and other team members.
