Job description

Clarivate is seeking to hire a Product Sales Manager to join our Academia & Government team! As a Product Sales Manager, you will drive sales activity for ProQuest and Clarivate Academia & Government content portfolio within the west coast territory in the United States. In collaboration with Account Managers, you will have the exciting role of product sales manager, articulating the value proposition whether as a single product sale or as part of a large portfolio. About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading demonstrations, trainings, or presentations, articulating value propositions for specialty product(s) and responding to inquiries about product functionality
  • 5+ years of technology and/or online content sales

It Would Be Great If You Also Had...
  • Previous experience selling into the academic library community.
  • Experience selling scholarly content, including databases, ebooks, primary sources, streaming media, and research solutions.
  • Knowledge of academic library acquisition models, including subscriptions.
  • Experience using AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity and business outcomes.

What Will You Be Doing in This Role?
  • Focus on new business development by identifying opportunities, creating target lists, prospecting, and participating in territory planning in partnership with Account Managers.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the PQIS and Books portfolio, including primary sources, ebooks, databases, news, dissertations, video, streaming media, and multidisciplinary research content.
  • Articulate the value proposition of individual products and portfolio solutions to support customer teaching, learning, and research goals.
  • Qualify priority opportunities and collaborate with Account Managers to develop and execute account plans.
  • Build relationships with librarians, faculty, collection development teams, and other institutional stakeholders to generate sales opportunities and drive growth.
  • Lead customer meetings, product demonstrations, and strategic sales discussions.
  • Lead specialty product forecasting and maintain accurate opportunity, pipeline, and activity data within Salesforce.
  • Manage pricing and proposal development in collaboration with sales leadership and pricing teams.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the broader Clarivate Academic & Government portfolio.
  • Utilize AI-powered tools and data-driven insights to improve productivity, account planning, customer engagement, forecasting, and sales effectiveness.
  • Enter leads and new activity into Salesforce.com for specialty products.

About the Team
You will be joining the Product Sales team in the Americas covering the US and Canada. There are currently 5 people on the team and you will report directly to the Senior Manager or Product Sales. This is a highly collaborative role partnering with different colleagues within sales, customer success, and product.
Hours of Work
  • Full-time, permanent
  • This is a remote role with a focus selling on the west coast in the US
  • Although duties are typically performed during normal business hours, occasional off-hours may be required
  • Up to 30% travel is required

Compensation - US Only
The expected base salary for this position is $88,000 - $105,000 USD per year. This role is eligible for sales incentive earnings. Individual pay is based upon experience, education, skill and ability, expertise, and relevant factors
