Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for applying product knowledge as well as technical and engineering knowledge to guide sales personnel on the selection, price, use, and care of custom automation and robotic products and to quote profitable yet cost-effective solutions that meet integrators' and customers' specific needs. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supplies sales personnel such as Accounts Managers, Key Account Managers and business development managers with technical information and prices during the planning/quoting process.
  • Understands customers' needs and analyzes quoting requests to ensure they meet customer project requirements.
  • Works closely with both Sales & Sales Application Engineers on the selection of part #s during the sales quotation process. 
  • Verifies sales orders for accurate part numbers and pricing and revises selection made by sales personnel to ensure complete and accurate system configuration and appropriate pricing.
  • Advises sales personnel regarding new product and their uses.  Interfaces with product managers and performs research to ensure that the selections are correct.
  • Supports Sales team in NAM region with pricebook and strategic pricing agreement creation. 
  • Creation of product Article numbers and customer solutions as required to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Participtes in routine training which include but are not limited to Product, Software, CRM, and other KUKA sales tools.
  • Provides 2nd level support for advanced and or custom quotation requests that are not standard to KUKA price book.
  • Adheres to the NAM Sales Process and utilizes best technical judgement when creating sales proposals to customers.  
  • Participates in Sales meetings.
  • Participates in Quality meetings regarding process flow and efficiency issues in the Sales and Order processing related areas.
  • Understands and follows safety regulations and identifies safety concerns.
  • Adheres to the Quality Systems and participates in continual improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree in an engineering-related discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Controls Engineers) and two years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Requires previous office environment experience, preferably in sales or marketing support. Excellent knowledge of computers and applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.  Knowledge of customer relations and contact databases a plus.  Technical aptitude is required and familiarity with robotics and control systems required.
