ABOUT THE ROLE
The Property Tax Analyst will bridge the gap as a dedicated tax resource for internal identification, preparation, and administration of real and personal property tax appeals. This position will be responsible for analyzing market data, conducting appraisals using cost/income/sales approaches, and file appeals to reduce property tax liabilities, and work with tax authorities to ensure equitable assessments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with the administrative process of property tax appeals and document management in WELL systems
  • Process data entry into WELL systems and manage data capture for periodical reports to internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Support the assessment, valuation, and legal challenge of property taxes for real or personal property
  • Perform independent market, income, and cost analysis to determine fair market value
  • Identify over-assessed properties, file tax appeals, and negotiate with taxing authorities
  • Review tax assessments, track appeal status, and ensure accurate tax projections for budgeting
  • Prepare detailed valuation reports, support documentation, and evidence for hearings
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders, operators, attorneys, and consultants regarding assessment discrepancies
  • Analyze market data, conduct appraisals using cost/income/sales approaches

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience
  • OneSource or Optimus/iTam property tax software experience preferred or related software/database knowledge
  • Knowledge of property tax assessment methods and ability to use Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in data management and reporting
  • Knowledge of property tax regulations, valuation and compliance preferred
  • CMI preferred
