Property Tax Analyst (Real Estate / Commercial Appeals)

Homewood, IL (In-Office)
$68,000+ (DOE) + Full Benefits
Full-Time | Monday–Friday

About the Role

Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit (KSN), a leading real estate tax law firm, is seeking a Property Tax Analyst to support commercial, industrial, and investment property tax appeals.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in real estate, legal support, or data analysis who enjoys working with detailed information, deadlines, and case-driven work.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and file property tax appeal complaints and supporting documentation
  • Analyze assessment records, tax histories, and valuation data
  • Draft summaries and preliminary briefs for attorney review
  • Collect and organize supporting evidence (appraisals, rent rolls, financials)
  • Manage case dockets and filing deadlines
  • Track cases and maintain internal databases
  • Communicate with clients regarding data requests and case updates
  • Coordinate with county agencies on hearings, filings, and refunds
  • Assist with tax incentive programs (6b, 7, 8, TIF) after training

What We’re Looking For (MUST-HAVES)

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven work
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Background

  • Experience in:
    • Property tax appeals
    • Real estate
    • Law firm or legal support role
    • Municipal or government work
  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, or Paralegal Certificate
  • Familiarity with Cook County property tax systems
