The Operations Manager should meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in logistics, supply-chain management, business, or a related discipline would be preferred.
  • At least eight years of experience organizing, directing, and managing contract logistics and maintenance operations, including multiple complex and interrelated tasks.
  • Experience supervising daily logistics, equipment maintenance and repair, procurement, warehouse, inventory, shipping, receiving, and Government-property-accountability activities.
  • Experience serving as the operational liaison with Government personnel, establishing daily priorities, resolving performance issues, and maintaining effective customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience with workforce planning, scheduling, quality management, inventory control, asset accountability, and audit-ready records.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for daily execution at the applicable facility-Albuquerque for the ABQ requirement or Lorton for the Lorton requirement. This individual must be a hands-on operational leader capable of managing personnel, repair and maintenance workloads, logistics activities, inventory and Government property, procurement support, service-level performance, and day-to-day coordination with CBP.

Direct experience with CBP, DHS, DoD, ILSS, MAXIMO, Non-Intrusive Inspection equipment, radiation-detection systems, maintenance dispatch operations, or depot-level repair would make a candidate particularly competitive.

Please let me know whether STi has internal candidates or individuals within its network who meet these requirements. For each potential candidate, we should obtain a current resume, location and relocation availability, compensation expectations, citizenship and background-investigation status, PMP status for the Program Manager, and examples of comparable federal logistics and maintenance programs they have managed.
