Responsibilities
The Assistant Community Management Intern supports the Community Manager and onsite team in the daily financial, operational, and resident-facing functions of a multifamily community. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to property management, basic accounting practices, resident relations, and community operations. Throughout the summer, the intern will gain practical experience, participate in meaningful projects, and develop a foundational understanding of how a multifamily community operates.
  • Assist with daily transactions such as collecting and posting rent and fees under supervision
  • Help prepare daily bank deposits and assist with basic account reconciliation tasks
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial summaries and reporting packets
  • Learn to review invoices from vendors and help verify work performed before submission for payment
  • Provide front-line support by answering resident questions and directing concerns to the appropriate team member
  • Participate in resident satisfaction initiatives, including events, surveys, and follow-ups.
  • Assist with reviewing resident files and understanding lease terms, renewals, and move-out procedures
  • Shadow the Community Manager and Maintenance Supervisor to understand daily operations
  • Help coordinate work orders, make-ready tasks, and unit inspections
  • Participate in property walks to learn how to identify maintenance needs and evaluate curb appeal
  • Support the team in preparing for owner visits, community tours, and performance updates

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements Include:
  • Current sophomores, juniors and seniors will be considered
  • Interest in real estate, property management, business, finance, or hospitality preferred
  • Experience with property management software is a plus; Entrada exposure is helpful but not required
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles or willingness to learn
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Customer-service mindset and a collaborative approach
  • Compensation: $20/hr
