Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Schedule: Monday thru Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Salary range:$85K to $100K per year

The Precinmac brand represents seven independently owned companies in the United States and Canada. We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for our Shields Manufacturing facility in Tualatin Oregon. (On-site position)

Summary:

Under limited supervision, develops and improves manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment to maintain proper product functionality and drive productivity. Leads and mentors’ other engineers.

While not inclusive, this position will provide support in the following areas of the Engineering Team:

Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and lead cross functional teams in executing solutions. Design fixturing, tooling, systems, etc. to improve processes. Work with outside vendors on equipment purchases for process improvement activities.

System Maintenance: Review traveler package and customer drawings for completeness and manufacturability. Obtain approval from customer for drawing changes. Create approved for manufacturing drawings, flat patterns, outsource drawings and other documents needed to create a complete manufacturing plan with a high probability of success. Attach prints and modify traveler package as needed to create a manufactural package and release travelers.

Productivity: Lead productivity initiatives. Identify an execute productivity projects. Lead cross functional teams in productivity efforts.

Production Support: Answers technical questions from production, outsource providers, purchasing and others. Assists in resolving technical issues.

Fixture Design: Design fixtures and other aids needed by manufacturing.

NRE Engineering: Provides customer product support on assigned projects as it pertains to development, design, and manufacturability.

Mentoring: Provide leadership and mentorship to other engineers on projects, process, engineering, problem solving, etc.

Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology (preferably Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical).
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in a Manufacturing or Process Engineering role.
  • Experience with and trained in Lean methodologies, including but not limited to; 5S, SMED, VSM, Visual Management / Visual Factory, Problem Solving (A3), Standard Work, Mistake-Proofing, and TPM.
  • Green or Black Belt level certification in Lean or Lean Six Sigma from a reputable training provider.
  • Hands on experience with machining processes, preferably with multi-axis milling and turning.
  • Experience using ERP and MES software, preferably Infor10 ERP (Syteline) and ShopVue.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite with strong MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
