This position interfaces with internal teams in a fast-paced environment to review pre-production art files, maintaining the visual quality of our products, and complying with the standards of our licensors. The right candidate needs to be well-versed with multi-tasking, using several platforms, and driving a multitude of projects independently, as well as comfortable functioning in a tight team environment. The role requires a keen eye for detail and design, proactive mindset, and a proficiency in sports verbiage and awareness.

  • Weigh-in on design composition and execution during multi-department overview of Master design files.
  • Review composed files of trading cards for file integrity, design consistency, image quality, text formatting, technical set-up and printing plate registration.
  • Examine intermediate stages of card proofs to ensure that requested revisions (by Quality Assurance, Editorial staff, Designers or Licensors) have been accurately applied.
  • Check imposition layouts against subject lists to ensure proper alignment of trading card sheets released to press.
  • Perform final review of imposed trading card sheets for errors and omissions prior to release of files to press.
  • Inspect packaging art files, to ensure accuracy of information presented to consumer, based on internal content documents, legal guidelines, and Bills of Materials.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge Skills and ABILITIES:

  • Mastery of English (U.S.) grammar, and adaptability to occasional use of European English formats.
  • Flexibility to variable styles and requirements of assorted sports (MLB, MLS, UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, Formula 1) and entertainment (Star Wars, Garbage Pail Kids) properties.
  • Multi-tasking capability to manage assignments across several projects and maintain priorities within a steady daily workflow.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, web browser-based interfaces, and Macintosh OS.
