Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a Product Manager to lead user-facing patient payment solutions within the Healthcare vertical. This role is responsible for driving the end-to-end product lifecycle, from strategy through execution, for applications that enable seamless, secure, and intuitive payment experiences for patients and healthcare providers.

The Product Manager will serve as the primary owner of product strategy, roadmap, and backlog, driving cross-functional alignment while leveraging modern tools, including AI, to improve team effectiveness and product outcomes.

This role requires a strong product-builder mindset, including the ability to rapidly validate ideas through prototyping, leverage AI-enabled workflows throughout the product lifecycle, and continuously iterate products in close partnership with Design and Engineering teams. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in an AI-forward environment where experimentation, customer feedback, data, and rapid learning drive product decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned to U.S. Bank and Merchant Payment Services (MPS) priorities

  • Translate market trends, customer needs, and business objectives into clear product strategies and prioritized initiatives

  • Leverage AI-enabled tools and insights to enhance decision-making, roadmap planning, and prioritization

  • Serve as the voice of the customer, with a strong focus on usability and accessibility

  • Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and identify opportunities to improve customer experiences, operational efficiency, and product differentiation

  • Develop and test product hypotheses using customer research, analytics, prototypes, proofs of concept, and experimentation frameworks

Product Discovery, Prototyping & Validation

  • Lead product discovery efforts by partnering with customers, Design, Engineering, and business stakeholders to identify unmet needs and validate opportunities

  • Create or direct the creation of low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes, wireframes, workflows, and MVP concepts to rapidly test assumptions

  • Utilize modern prototyping and AI-assisted product development tools to accelerate ideation and customer feedback cycles

  • Translate customer insights and prototype learnings into actionable roadmap recommendations and product investments

  • Facilitate iterative testing, usability reviews, and feedback loops to ensure products solve meaningful customer problems before development investment

Execution & Delivery

  • Own and maintain the product backlog, including epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria

  • Lead Agile ceremonies and ensure predictable, high-quality delivery across product teams

  • Partner with Engineering and Design to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

  • Incorporate AI tools and automation to drive team efficiencies in backlog management, workflow optimization, and delivery tracking

  • Drive an iterative product development approach that emphasizes incremental value delivery, rapid feedback cycles, and continuous learning

  • Balance short-term delivery commitments with long-term product strategy through ongoing prioritization and roadmap refinement

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the central point of coordination across Product, Engineering, Design, Operations, Sales, and Marketing

  • Drive alignment across stakeholders and ensure clear, consistent communication of priorities and trade-offs

  • Champion the adoption of AI-driven efficiencies across the Product organization, enabling improved collaboration and productivity

  • Ensure downstream teams (Operations, Client Support, Sales) are prepared for successful product rollout and adoption

  • Foster a collaborative product trio model with Design and Engineering leaders, jointly owning customer outcomes, delivery execution, and product quality

  • Lead decision-making through evidence-based discussions, incorporating customer insights, analytics, experimentation results, and technical feasibility

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Track and analyze product performance to drive continuous iteration and optimization

  • Identify opportunities to improve product delivery processes through AI, automation, and data insights

  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, outcomes, and strategic direction

  • Establish success metrics for new capabilities and use product analytics to guide ongoing iteration and investment decisions

  • Champion a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous product improvement

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management or Product Development

  • Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and complex product initiatives

  • Demonstrated experience in driving product strategy, prioritization, and execution

  • Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., copilots, automation, analytics tools) to improve team efficiency and decision-making

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels

  • Experience working in an AI-forward product organization where AI tools are integrated into discovery, planning, development, or operational workflows

  • Experience creating, reviewing, or guiding product prototypes, wireframes, proofs of concept, or MVPs as part of the product discovery process

  • Demonstrated success iterating products based on customer feedback, usability testing, analytics, and experimentation

  • Experience partnering closely with Design and Engineering teams to deliver user-centered digital experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare technology, patient payments, or fintech/payments ecosystems

  • Familiarity with user-facing applications and digital experience optimization (UX/UI)
