Position Overview
Cumulus Media | Salt Lake City is in search of a hard working PT Promotions Tech. If you are looking to get a foot in the door to the radio industry, have an outgoing personality and have a passion for radio, this is a great opportunity for you! This job will consist of general office duties as well as going out into the community to interact with listeners and promote our stations.
The Promotions Tech travels around the area and represents the Cumulus stations at specified events, acting as Brand Ambassadors. This includes set-up and breakdown of remote broadcast equipment and promotional items (pop-up tents and tables, hanging banners) for off-site appearances. They also monitors the broadcast or event audio for quality and repairs/corrects problems as needed during the broadcast or event.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute proper technical and physical set-up and breakdown of remote broadcasts and station events; ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on the fly
  • Represent stations at events in an upbeat, outgoing and friendly manner
  • Ability to drive station vehicles with attached trailer
  • Maintain and storage of station equipment
  • Setup sporting events, press conferences, media events, and other live events for play by play, media pool audio, interviews, and other opportunities
  • Responsible for operation of broadcast audio codecs to include audio over IP, POTS, ISDN, and program loop audio
  • General maintenance of station vehicles including cleaning and minor repair
  • General maintenance of remote broadcast equipment including diagnosis of problems and minor internal repairs

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of audio mixing and routing as applicable to remote broadcasting, studio broadcasting and sound reinforcement
  • Basic troubleshooting of problems related to electronics, IP networking, phone circuit, audio routing, mixing, and quality
  • Customer Service experience helpful
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Reliable; have a flexible schedule and be available to work at least 20 hours per week, including days, nights, weekends and holidays
  • May require lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Outgoing, energetic, detail-oriented and responsible
  • Computer literacy in applicable programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and equipment
  • Ability to multi-task and handle high pressures and deadlines
  • Time management and ability to work independently in remote locations
  • May require climbing ladders and working on elevated surfaces (e.g., rooftops)
  • May require working outdoors in all weather conditions

Pay Range
USD $15.00 - USD $15.00 /Hr.
