Project Sales Representative 

Thayer, LLC 

Auburn, ME   

Thayer is seeking mechanically skilled Project Sales Representatives to support our commercial HVAC/R and building services projects across New England. This role combines sales, project management, customer service, and technical problem-solving. 

Requirements of the Project Sales Representative:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction or engineering preferred. 

  • 5+ years of relevant trade experience, licensed HVAC technician, mechanical engineering and/or design work experience. 

  • 5 years of hands-on construction project management overseeing trade-specific work. 

  • Experience qualifying prospects and conducting effective sales presentations. 

  • Ability to report to office in Auburn, Maine daily. 

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. 

  • OSHA certification, EPA license, or Maine/NH gas, oil, or plumbing licenses preferred.

Responsibilities of the Project Sales Representative:
  • Build customer relationships across multiple markets and conduct site visits to evaluate needs. 

  • Develop scopes of work, estimates, and proposals and present solutions to customers.  

  • Manage projects from start to finish, including scheduling, budgeting, materials, vendors, subcontractors, and job site oversight. 

  • Survey mechanical systems, identify problems and propose solutions in a timely manner.   

  • Identifies prospects in assigned market. Promptly follow up on leads and referrals.  

  • Maintain an active backlog of quotes to ensure booking goal is consistently met.  

Thayer, LLC. has been providing Maine with a complete range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and refrigeration solutions for over thirty years.  Thayer,LLC operates from a modern 35,000 square foot corporation office and fabrication facility in Auburn, ME.  The area is serviced with a fleet of over 40 service and installation vehicles.
