The Maintenance Project Planning Coordinator role is based onsite in South Brunswick, NJ and supports the execution of maintenance-led projects and engineering-supported work. This role focuses on planning, material staging, and job readiness so maintenance teams can efficiently execute project work internally, reducing reliance on contractors. Day shift
This position acts as the bridge between Engineering, Maintenance, and Stores by preparing project work packages, kitting parts and tools, and ensuring maintenance crews are set up for success before work begins.
1. Where You'll Make a Difference
As a Maintenance Project Planning Coordinator, you will ensure maintenance project work is fully planned, properly scoped, and ready to execute. Your work will directly improve schedule adherence, job quality, safety, and cost control by enabling maintenance to perform more project work in-house
Planning and preparing maintenance-led project work, including projects owned by Engineering that require maintenance execution.
• Creating clear job plans with defined scope, steps, labor needs, tools, and safety considerations.
• Coordinating material identification, ordering, and staging so all required parts are kitted and ready before work starts.
• Building and maintaining project kits and carts for scheduled maintenance project work.
• Working closely with Engineering to understand project scope, drawings, and requirements that impact maintenance execution.
• Coordinating with Maintenance Supervisors to align job readiness with available labor and schedules.
• Reducing the need for external contractors by improving planning, material readiness, and internal execution capability.
• Ensuring work orders and project tasks are accurately created and maintained in SAP Plant Maintenance.
• Supporting project schedule tracking, status updates, and readiness reviews.
• Identifying missing scope, parts, tools, or access issues before work begins and resolving them proactively.
• Capturing feedback from maintenance after job execution to improve future planning and job quality.
• Supporting continuous improvement in project planning, kitting, and execution processes.
2. What Makes You the Right Fit
• Associate degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent hands-on maintenance or operations experience.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing maintenance, project planning, or related roles.
• Strong understanding of maintenance work execution and job readiness requirements.
• Experience working with maintenance and engineering teams on equipment or facility projects.
• Ability to organize complex work, manage priorities, and keep multiple projects moving.
• Clear communication skills and comfort coordinating across Maintenance, Engineering, Stores, and Operations.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on preparation and execution quality.
