The Role


We are seeking a Project Operations Analyst to provide hands-on support to project managers and business leaders across day-to-day operational and project delivery activities. This role is a critical resource for PMs navigating project setup, forecasting, and cost management, while also supporting leadership with financial analysis and performance reporting.


Responsibilities


  • Support project managers with project setup, cost tracking, forecasting, estimate at completion (EAC) analysis, and project reviews
  • Monitor project portfolio performance including margin variance, unbilled, and A/R, and partner with PMs to address issues proactively
  • Provide financial and operational analysis to division and market leadership to support decision-making and performance improvement
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, quarterly forecasts, and preliminary project budgets for assigned markets or business units
  • Assist with opportunity and pursuit tracking, project execution pricing models, and risk management activities
  • Serve as a day-to-day resource and advocate for project managers, providing guidance on company policies, procedures, and project delivery tools
  • Develop job aids, tracking tools, and templates that simplify project delivery workflows and improve PM compliance
  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely project data in ERP and reporting systems

Qualifications


Required

  • 4-7 years of experience in project controls, operations coordination, or PMO support within AEC or professional services
  • Hands-on experience supporting PMs with project setup, cost management, and forecasting
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills; experience with financial modeling, variance analysis, and performance reporting
  • Proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms
  • Working knowledge of PMI project management frameworks and lifecycle
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across project teams and business units
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment

Preferred

  • Experience developing cost management tracking tools or operational dashboards
  • Background in individual training or coaching project managers on financial performance
  • Familiarity with AEC industry project delivery models and market structures
