Job description

The scope of this position includes management for all financial, commercial, contractual, and technical aspects of Advanced Electrical Service (AES) projects. The scope also includes oversight of the planning, design, procurement, assembly, test, shipment and commissioning of AES projects. The person in this position will provide commercial and technical support to various cross-functional teams including engineering, purchasing, production and field service.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:        
    Develop solutions to commercial problems and provide support in solving technical problems.
    Apply advanced knowledge and experience rather than fixed "textbook" methods. 
    Achieve coordination of projects by working with design, contract, commercial and production planning specialists. 
    Exercise considerable latitude in determination of commercial objectives. 
    Ensure technical and commercial strategy is well understood throughout the manufacturing and engineering project team. 
    Coordinate project schedule with both the customer and production control. 
    Interface with the customer on technical and commercial matters. 
    Prepare cost estimates for booking, shipment and start up completion. 
    Monitor progress to schedule in engineering, provisioning, and production operations. 
    Monitor Customer Drawings and approve Operation/Maintenance Manuals. 
    Regularly inspect progress of custom switchgear projects on shop floor to assure compliance to specification, resolving problems quickly, and project milestones are being met. 
    Represent customers' interest with respect to quality problem resolution. 
    Assure project revenue recognition and profitability are timely and are in concert with Company financial plan. 
    Interface with internal management of the company as well as customers. 
    Internal contacts and peers may be department and business managers, project managers, production managers, product support team, and engineering. 
    External contacts are project managers and management of Dealers, major clients, and sub-suppliers.

Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    Associate's degree with 5+ years' experience OR 
    Bachelor's degree with 3+ years' additional job experience. 
    Master's degree or above.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
    Demonstrated knowledge of project and business management principles, methods and techniques.
    Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional technical teams within budgetary and schedule constraints. 
    Experience in dealing with multiple disciplines such as contractors, consultants, engineering, sales, purchasing, and commissioning agents. 
    Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office 365.

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:
    Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and situations to achieve superior proactive project order management and customer service. 
    Demonstrated skills and experience in mediation and negotiation. 
    Demonstrated experience directing internal and client teams involved in multiple activities.
