Job description

Title: Senior Project Manager โ€“ Construction

Location: Chicago, IL

Compensation: Up to $200,000 + Bonus + Benefits


Our client, an established Chicago General Contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead major construction projects throughout the Chicagoland area.

The company delivers a strong portfolio of federal, municipal, healthcare, institutional and commercial projects, with experience across General Contracting, Design-Build, Construction Management and self-perform work.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from preconstruction through final completion and closeout
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement and overall financial performance
  • Oversee Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and project teams
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, engineers and clients
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders and project documentation
  • Lead subcontractor buyout, contract negotiations and scope reviews
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify project risks and constructability issues
  • Lead owner, architect and subcontractor meetings
  • Monitor forecasting, cost control, schedules and overall project performance
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget


Requirements:

  • 8+ years of construction project management experience
  • Strong General Contractor background
  • Experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Federal, municipal, healthcare or institutional project experience highly preferred
  • Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build experience advantageous
  • Strong understanding of project financials, scheduling, contracts and subcontractor management
  • Proven experience leading project teams and managing client relationships
  • Construction Management, Engineering or related degree preferred
