Role Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee all architectural aspects of project development, from design development through construction documents. This role manages project teams, coordinates with consultants and clients, and ensures delivery of complete documentation on schedule and budget. Project Managers will typically lead 1-2 projects simultaneously while mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

Team & Project Management

  • Lead, direct, and coordinate team members and consultants across project phases
  • Manage and mentor junior staff; make authoritative decisions impacting project direction
  • Coordinate workload through design development and construction document phases
  • Track project schedules, design fees, budgets, and reimbursable costs

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Establish and facilitate client and internal meetings throughout each project
  • Interface with clients and manage relationships to ensure satisfaction
  • Participate in reviews with governing agencies for code compliance
  • Contribute to proposals, RFPs, charrettes, and business development activities

Documentation & Technical

  • Prepare and review construction documents for accuracy across all disciplines
  • Write and edit architectural specifications; coordinate legal parameters with owners
  • Apply working knowledge of MEP systems and codes (IBC, ADA, CBC Title 24, BOMA)
  • Manage construction administration including RFIs, change orders, and submittals

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in a professional architecture office
  • Multi-family and mixed-use architecture experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, CAD, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Licensed Architect in California
  • Multifamily residential project experience
  • Experience managing project teams and mentoring junior staff
