Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads staff meetings, month-end reviews, design review meetings, task force meetings. Participates in project meetings
  • Monitors contract administration
  • Manages major risk events
  • Reviews, negotiates, and manages subcontractor and material contracts
  • Identifies and develops mitigation plans for all types of risk
  • Implements effective strategies for pricing and distributing risks through the team
  • Monitors team’s performance and gets the right people in the right roles
  • Establishes priorities, focuses on goal development and execution for the organization
  • Confronts issues and takes timely action
  • Fosters collaborative team environment
  • Identifies leaders and proactively manages development
  • Manages false claims avoidance
  • Delivers proposal presentations to potential clients
  • Leads construction services that satisfy client through on-time delivery of quality project within budget
  • Participates with superintendent, estimators and other project team members in preconstruction efforts
  • Leads effective pre-planning efforts to ensure all aspects of project are addressed prior to mobilization and throughout construction process
  • Reviews, monitors, and manages project budget, construction costs, change management, and other financials
  • In partnership with superintendent, establish key project milestones through effective schedule management
  • Ensures full implementation of company safety, risk management, environmental and stormwater programs
  • Leads GH Phipps’ QA/QC program and supports it through consistent focus on quality control
  • Completes closeout efforts in timely manner, properly archives project information per company procedure
  • Proactively manages disputes and claims to ensure timely and fair issue resolution
  • Mentors and trains direct reports through regular communication
  • Develops competencies and skill sets via active engagement in performance management process, employee development and problem solving
  • Travels to jobsites, meetings and client locations as needed in support of employees, clients, project team, etc.
  • Participates in business and industry associations and opportunities to drive public awareness of our brand
  • Actively develops and maintains positive relationships with key past and present clients, architects, and developers
  • Consistently brings in leads and new opportunities from existing clients where possible
  • Insure customer satisfaction and loyalty for future projects
  • Actively participates in RFPs and RFQs for work acquisition
  • Fosters a positive reputation in the industry by building relationships and identifies project opportunities aligned with strategic plans, and goals
  • Other duties as assigned

    EDUCATION

    Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management or related field required

    EXPERIENCE

    Minimum 7 years of commercial construction experience

     

    TECHNICAL SKILLS

    • Proficient in project management software, PROCORE preferred
    • Proficient in Bluebeam
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    • Knowledge and use of ASTA

    EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

    • Verifiable work references
    • Successful completion of post-offer background & drug screens
    • All positions at GH Phipps are considered safety sensitive. Position may be required to visit a construction site at any time
    • In person, regular attendance required

      SALARY AND BENEFITS

      The salary range for this position is $110,000 – 136,000 annually and is dependent in experience and title/rank of position offered.

      Compensation

      Our compensation package includes a competitive salary, participation in our employee stock ownership program (ESOP) on your first day of hire, and eligibility in our annual bonus program. Annual ESOP contributions and bonuses are dependent on company performance and are not guaranteed from year to year. Both ESOP and bonuses are calculated on one’s eligible compensation for the year.  

       

      Holidays and Paid-Time Off

      Employees get seven paid holidays (designated) and one paid floating holiday.

      PTO may be used for vacation, sick time, or other personal matters and is based on years of employment and years of experience.
