Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager with a strong foundation in consulting engineering and a drive for personal and professional growth. The ideal candidate will lead mechanical design projects across various sectors, including education, public works, transportation, water/wastewater, aviation, and government.

This role involves the full lifecycle management of mechanical and plumbing system projectsโ€”HVAC, piping, refrigeration, ductwork, fire protection, and more. You will be responsible for planning, design oversight, team coordination, client communication, and quality control.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Oversight & Quality Control:

    • Lead engineering calculations and assessments for mechanical systems.

    • Supervise and review mechanical/plumbing design documents (drawings and specs).

    • Guide junior engineers and ensure quality assurance of deliverables.

  • Project Management:

    • Develop and manage project scope, budgets, and schedules.

    • Monitor progress, coordinate resources, and prepare reports/invoices.

    • Ensure compliance with codes and permitting requirements.

    • Manage internal and external project teams, including subconsultants.

  • Client & Team Collaboration:

    • Act as main point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors.

    • Participate in presentations, proposals, and business development efforts.

    • Resolve field construction issues and provide technical support.

  • Leadership & Development:

    • Provide performance feedback and coaching to team members.

    • Foster a collaborative, high-performing project team environment.

    • Champion continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • 12+ years of relevant experience in mechanical and plumbing design.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and building load simulation software (IESVE, Carrier HAP preferred).

  • Strong understanding of mechanical/plumbing codes and energy codes.

  • Must pass Motor Vehicle screening.
