The Role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful implementations, migrations, and optimizations of VertiGIS Telco Solutions. This role will be responsible for managing end-to-end project delivery, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment between business stakeholders and technical teams.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in data migration, GIS systems, telecom infrastructure, or enterprise asset management platforms, along with proven technical and project leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full lifecycle implementation projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate data migration activities, including data mapping, transformation logic, validation, reconciliation, and cutover planning.
  • Oversee integration & implementation efforts across systems, including:
    • GIS platforms
    • ETL pipelines and data transformation frameworks
    • APIs, middleware, and external enterprise systems
  • Partner with technical leads to define solution architecture, data flows, and system interfaces.
  • Ensure alignment between Customer (project management) and VertiGIS (technical delivery) teams or equivalent stakeholders.
  • Manage risks, issues, and dependencies, with proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate UAT, testing cycles (SIT/UAT), and go-live readiness.
  • Establish and track KPIs (schedule adherence, data quality, system performance, etc.).
  • Drive clear communication across all levels, including executive reporting.
  • Ensure proper documentation, governance, and change management processes are followed.
  • Support post-go-live stabilization, performance tuning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical Capability Expectations
  • Ability to understand and contribute to solution architecture and system design discussions
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Data models (relational, geospatial, and asset-based models)
    • ETL tools (e.g., FME, SSIS, or similar)
    • APIs and integration patterns (REST, SOAP, microservices)
  • Experience with GIS platforms, ESRI ArcGIS ecosystem (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, Feature Services)
  • Familiarity with spatial data concepts (topology, coordinate systems, geodatabases)
  • Understanding of telecom or utility network data structures (fiber, circuits, outside plant, network hierarchies)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and deployment models is a plus
  • Ability to create and\or interpret SQL queries, data transformations, and data validation scripts
  • Ability to document and train on solutions delivered
  • Experience working with data quality frameworks, reconciliation reporting, and audit controls

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in telecom, utilities, or GIS environments.
  • PMP, and/or Agile/Scrum certification.
  • Proven experience delivering data migration and system implementation projects.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Data migration strategies and reconciliation processes
    • GIS systems (e.g., ArcGIS)
    • ETL processes and data integration
  • Experience managing cross-functional and distributed teams.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet).
