Job Title: Project Manager
Position Overview
The Project Manager at Blue Sage Services is responsible for leading projects from planning through completion in a manner that reflects our mission, core values, and commitment to excellence. This role serves as a key leader by bridging ownership vision, operational execution, and team performance to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with integrity.
This position requires a consistent presence in the field, sound decision-making, and a strong sense of ownership over both people and outcomes. Success is measured not only by project completion, but by the trust built with teams, the confidence of clients, and the long-term value delivered to the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution & Field Leadership
  • Lead assigned projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, safety, quality, and client expectations.
  • Serve as the primary leader on projects, supporting Superintendents and field teams by removing obstacles and maintaining forward progress.
  • Maintain an active field presence to ensure accountability, communication, and execution standards are met.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract documents, plans, specifications, and Blue Sage standards.
  • Promote and model a strong safety culture where planning, accountability, and ownership exist at every level.
  • Drive project closeout by ensuring punch list completion, documentation, and client deliverables are completed on time.

Financial Awareness & Business Stewardship
  • Maintain clear visibility into project financial performance including budgets, production, and cost trends.
  • Track progress against plan and proactively identify risks related to cost, schedule, or resources.
  • Support accurate forecasting and decision-making through consistent project reporting and communication with leadership.
  • Exercise strong stewardship of company resources including labor, equipment, and materials to protect margins and long-term company health.

Communication & Stakeholder Alignment
  • Communicate proactively and transparently with clients, ownership, field leadership, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Provide consistent updates on project status, risks, and key decisions.
  • Build trust through clear expectations, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Represent Blue Sage Services professionally in all external interactions.

Team Leadership & Culture
  • Lead by example in alignment with Blue Sage Services core values: Integrity, Leadership, Teamwork, Innovation, Stewardship, and Commitment.
  • Develop field personnel through clear expectations, coaching, and hands-on leadership.
  • Foster a culture that attracts and retains high-quality people through respect, consistency, and accountability.

  • Share knowledge and best practices with other Project Managers to drive consistency and continuous improvement.

Certifications, Education & Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent field experience may be considered in place of a degree based on proven performance and leadership

Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, site development, or infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience managing projects from pre-construction through closeout
  • Experience with large-scale earthwork, underground utilities, or data center/site development preferred

Certifications (Preferred but not Required)
  • OSHA 30
  • CPR/First Aid
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, plans, specifications, and contracts
  • Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, forecasting, and cost tracking
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in construction management software (HCSS Heavy Job/Heavy Bid preferred)
