The Project Manager is responsible for applying operations management principles to deliver projects, viewing them as a production system that transforms input into outputs, aiming for efficiency and optimized results. They are responsible for managing the execution of an array of projects for our customers and at the same time act as the internal liaison amongst other plants in the business such as Project Managers, Plant Managers, Quality Control, and Logistics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Follows health and environmental safety guidelines/procedures set for this role, including but not limited to wearing proper PPE and not operating any equipment or machinery the Team Members have not been trained to operate.
  • Use the assigned PPE and follow the PPE guidelines set by the business.
  • Follows all EHS guidelines while leveraging principles from operations management - such as planning, control, coordination, to optimize project execution.
  • Serves as the liaison between the steel plant and the other manufacturing sites in managing production, deliveries, and inventory of finished goods.
  • Manages the production schedule to ensure proper supply of raw materials to the production lines.
  • Manages the internal manufacturing supply of raw materials to the production lines in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Liaises with other internal departments to ensure standards are met as quality, manufacturing timelines and on-time delivery of our products.
  • Effectively communicates with the internal customers from other manufacturing sites any issues arising with the production schedule, inventory, and delivery of finished goods.
  • Operates with a strong orientation towards customer service while managing internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Prepare internal reports pertaining to job status and other data or information relevant to the projects assigned.
  • Escalates any issues or potential issues between internal departments to correct any issues pertaining to the project.
  • Creates and reviews drawings for accuracy and makes recommendations.
  • Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor or a senior member of the management team necessary for the operations of the department and the business.
EDUCATION
  • BS in engineering, engineering management or any other related field
  • AA degree and five years of experience in a business, construction, or manufacturing environments
EXPERIENCE
  • Five years of experience in a construction environment and performing a project management role.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience in managing an ERP system.
