Job Summary

The OPEx PM will serve as a leader of OPEx and be the shaper of transformation on the full perimeter of an executive, making the connection with business imperatives. In this role you will be accountable for the success of area transformation deployments; you will lead teams of Change Agents and coach them towards success and development. You are an experienced hands-on Leader and able to fine tune the approach to the different business reality.

This role is based in the API manufacturing site in Brantford Ontario.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional teams, and facilitate the implementation of continuous improvement projects at the site
  • Demonstrate well-developed project management skills by utilizing business databases, project tools, systems, methodologies and software to plan and execute the activities
  • Collaborate with business leaders, key customers, suppliers and employees in the identification, prioritization, selection and execution of a portfolio of LEAN projects through the introduction and application of the DMAIC methodology to deliver business results, ensure customer satisfaction, transform organizational culture and achieve Apotex core strategic work plan objectives
  • Lead and facilitate the development of project design, justification, scope, specifications and cost estimates in collaboration with process owners and other key stakeholders
  • Teach and apply LEAN tools & methodology while working as a change agent to drive and facilitate positive change - continuous improvement - in support of the accomplishment of Apotex strategic work plan objectives
  • Proactively evaluate a segment of products in the portfolio to identify opportunities of growth to enhance the business. Lead ad hoc strategy projects and initiatives for internal assets and external opportunities
  • Participate in developing, recommending and implementing cross-functional project teams, systems, policies, procedures and measures of performance to facilitate continuous improvement intiatives.
  • Interface with key functional areas (Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Validation, QA R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, etc.) to ensure cross-functional alignment, to determine and mitigate risk factors and to value and prioritize the pipeline.
  • Work in a partnership with teams of highly experienced individual contributors to execute and deliver project results by leveraging expertise in mentoring, relationship building, envisioning meaningful change, strategic thinking and team building.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders across the organization to become a strategic partner to assess their requirements, provide advice, determine their customer service level and manage their expectations and standards.
  • Under the direction and guidance of the Corp. OpEx facilitate and deliver training in the use of LEAN tools to expand knowledge and understanding and to further enhance the continuous improvement efforts throughout the Site.
  • Measure, monitor and report on the effectiveness of the change efforts using metrics and established Key Performance Indicators. Track the benefit realization and cost savings vs the prior state.
  • Ensures project issues and risks are identified, quantified, managed and tracked. Uses past operational experience to proactively "anticipate" risk and develop appropriate mitigation strategies and plans.  Ensures risks, assuptions and constraints are appropriately communicated and escalated when necessary.
  • Manage program and project scope, plan inter-dependencies, timelines, budgets, communications, business goals and deliverables
  • Utilize open, honest, two way communication to build trust-based relationships with employees, business partners and direct leader while continuously improving leadership capabilities by personally seeking feedback and development.
  • Works in a safe manner collaborating as a team member to achieve all outcomes.

Job Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
    • Lean Six Sigma, PMP and Change Management credentials required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Has demonstrated high -level performance in current and previous positions.
    • Has previous experience working across one of the following sectors - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, CPG, Food & Beverage
    • Has shown initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations
    • Has solid leadership skills and able to manage both vertically and horizontally
    • Demonstrated ability to utilize Lean Six Sigma practices and apply DMAIC for projects and continuous improvement intiatives.
    • Experience using project management tools and processes
  • Experience
    • Solid experience in project/program management, including managing large-scale projects/programs of significant complexity and value
    • Industry specific knowledge and experience strongly preferred

The hiring range for this position is $83,126- $138,544 CAD per year. The final agreed-upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
