About The Job

About the RoleReporting to the Director of Construction, the Project Manager - Internal Remodels & Renovations is responsible for managing restaurant remodel and renovation projects across SIR's portfolio of brands. You'll oversee projects from planning through completion, ensuring they're delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to our quality standards while minimizing disruption to restaurant operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Construction team in a newly created role where you'll partner with contractors, consultants, restaurant operations, and internal stakeholders to successfully execute multiple capital projects across Canada.

About You

What You'll Do

  • Manage multiple restaurant remodel and renovation projects from initiation through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, timelines, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and suppliers throughout each phase of construction.
  • Review and approve contractor invoices, progress payments, change orders, and project costs.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Partner with Restaurant Operations and Facilities to minimize operational disruption during renovations.
  • Coordinate material procurement, restaurant equipment deliveries, commercial kitchen installations, and FF&E.
  • Identify project risks, resolve issues, and proactively manage project timelines.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes, health department regulations, fire and life safety requirements, accessibility standards, and SIR brand standards.
  • Provide regular project updates and communicate project status, milestones, and risks to key stakeholders.
  • Support project closeout activities, warranty management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8-12 years of progressive construction project management experience, preferably managing restaurant, hospitality, retail, or commercial renovation projects.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent construction projects with budgets ranging from $500,000 to $5 million.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices, building codes, health regulations, and construction compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience coordinating general contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience with restaurant equipment installations, commercial kitchen systems, and FF&E is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with project management software, scheduling tools, budgeting systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and relationship management skills.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to restaurant locations across Canada as required.

Compensation

Hiring Salary Range: $102,800 - $115,700

Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
