Job description

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER - LATAM

JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Project Manager - Capital Projects (LATAM) supports schools across Latin America in delivering capital development projects including new campuses, expansions, and major renovations.

The role manages projects from feasibility through construction completion, ensuring projects meet Nord Anglia Education standards and local regulatory requirements.

The Senior Project Manager will lead procurement of architects, engineers, and contractors, oversee tender processes, and manage the delivery of construction projects across multiple countries.

Strong coordination with school leadership, consultants, and contractors is essential to ensure projects meet operational and educational needs.

REPORTS TO: Head of Development - Americas

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

BUSINESS GROWTH & REPUTATION
   Lead development and delivery of capital projects across Latin America.
   Develop project briefs, budgets, and delivery plans for new campuses and expansions.
   Ensure operational needs (safeguarding, security, health & safety) are integrated into builds
   Procure architects, consultants, and contractors through structured tender processes.
   Measured by: Successful delivery of projects aligned with Nord Anglia standards and stakeholder expectations on timely delivery of projects, adherence to budget/quality.

PROJECT DELIVERY & CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
   Manage the design development process ensuring alignment with educational and operational requirements.
   Oversee construction delivery including schedule monitoring, cost management, and quality assurance.
   Review and interrogate contractor bids, construction budgets, and change orders.
   Ensure compliance with local permitting requirements and regulatory standards.
   Establishes rigorous project governance and reporting structures across projects.
   Measured by: On-time project completion, effective contractor management, and successful project handover, and compliance with NAE guidelines.

SCHOOL SUPPORT & CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS
   Support schools with renovation projects and capital improvements.
   Provide guidance on architect selection, design review, permitting processes, and contractor procurement.
   Coordinate with safeguarding, security, health & safety teams to ensure specific requirements are captured in consolidated construction designs
   Integrate school-specific FF&E vendors with the construction program to ensure coordinated delivery.
   Lead value engineering on any redesigns to improve deliverables
   Supporting the Principal as appropriate with early activities such as marketing and events.
   Measured by: Quality of support provided to schools and successful completion of improvement projects.

PROCESS DEVELOPMENT  & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT    
   Implement standardized project management processes across LATAM.
   Share best practices and lessons learned across projects.
   Measured by: Improved project delivery and consistency across schools.

COLLABORATION & EXTERNAL PARTNERSHIPS
   Collaborate with school leadership, operations teams, and regional departments, and global NAE teams
   Develop strong working relationships with consultants, contractors, and vendors across LATAM.
   Working closely with internal Group Nord Anglia Education and marketing team and the Regional Finance & HR Teams.
   Working closely with Regional IT Director to set up school IT infrastructure
   Measured by: Strong stakeholder engagement and effective project outcomes.

   Promote and model Nord Anglia Education's values and leadership capabilities.
   Support schools with facility-related issues and operational challenges.
   Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
   Measured by: Active contribution to regional success and alignment with Nord Anglia values

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications / Training

  • Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills

  • Minimum 10 years' experience managing construction or development projects.
  • Experience working across multiple Latin American markets preferred.
  • Strong project procurement and construction management expertise.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Experience managing budgets, CAPEX, and IT platforms
  • Willingness to travel across Latin America (30-50%).
  • Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach with high integrity.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and leadership abilities.
  • Team player with astute executive maturity
  • Affinity with education.
