Project Manager - Government Security Operations

Position Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall management, performance, and success of a government security contract involving both armed and unarmed security personnel. This position oversees supervisors and more than 50+ officers assigned to the contract and serves as the primary liaison between the company and government representatives. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring all contractual obligations are met, maintaining staffing levels, managing schedules, enforcing standards, and ensuring operational excellence across the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
โข Oversee daily operations for armed and unarmed security personnel assigned to the government facility
โข Manage, coach, and supervise site supervisors and 30+ security officers
โข Ensure all officers maintain compliance with licensing, certifications, uniforms, equipment, and post requirements
โข Develop and maintain schedules to ensure full staffing coverage for all shifts and posts
โข Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and training for new officers
โข Conduct inspections to ensure officers are properly uniformed, equipped, and performing duties according to post orders and company standards
โข Monitor and track equipment inventory including uniforms, radios, keys, firearms, less-lethal equipment, and other assigned items
โข Meet regularly with government clients and serve as the primary liaison between the organization and government representatives
โข Respond to client concerns, incidents, emergencies, and staffing issues in a timely and professional manner
โข Prepare and submit monthly operational reports, incident summaries, staffing reports, training records, and other contract-required documentation
โข Conduct investigations into employee misconduct, policy violations, and performance concerns
โข Issue disciplinary action, corrective action plans, and performance improvement measures when necessary
โข Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, post orders, and government regulations
โข Review incident reports, daily activity reports, and supervisor logs for accuracy and completeness
โข Monitor overtime, labor costs, scheduling efficiency, and contract profitability
โข Assist with audits, inspections, and contract performance evaluations
โข Maintain a professional working relationship with client representatives, local law enforcement, and company leadership
โข Ensure the contract remains fully staffed, compliant, and operationally successful at all times
โข Be available for on-call support after hours, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed
Qualifications:
โข Minimum of 5 years of Project Manager experience in security operations, government contracting, law enforcement, military, or related field
โข Minimum of 3 years managing supervisors and large teams in a security environment
โข Experience managing armed and unarmed security personnel
โข Strong knowledge of government security contracts, staffing, scheduling, compliance, and performance metrics
โข Experience conducting investigations, disciplinary actions, and employee performance management
โข Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and operational issues in a fast-paced environment
โข Strong communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and client management skills
โข Proficient in Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and report writing
โข Valid driver's license with clean driving record
โข Must be able to pass a background check and meet all government contract requirements
โข Active security license and firearms qualifications preferred
โข Military, law enforcement, or prior government contract experience strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
โข Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, and conduct site inspections for extended periods
โข Ability to respond to emergencies at any time
โข Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25 pounds
