Job Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field operations supporting wireless telecommunications projects, including the productivity, safety, quality, and development of field crews. This position ensures operations are executed efficiently and in accordance with project requirements, safety standards, customer expectations, and Company objectives.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  
•    Oversee day-to-day field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with project requirements and quality standards
•    Coordinate work assignments, schedules, and resources to support project priorities and operational commitments
•    Monitor productivity, quality, safety, attendance, and other operational metrics and take appropriate action to address issues and improve performance
•    Monitor operational costs and resource utilization and take appropriate action to support productivity and budget objectives
•    Promote and maintain a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with Company, customer, and applicable safety requirements
•    Conduct regular job site visits to assess progress, identify issues, and reinforce safety, quality, and performance expectations
•    Ensure field work is performed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, scope of work, customer requirements, and industry standards
•    Identify and resolve operational issues, project delays, resource constraints, and field concerns, escalating significant matters appropriately 
•    Coordinate with Project Managers, Field Construction Managers, customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to support successful project execution; establish and maintain effective working relationships to support successful project execution and customer satisfaction
•    Ensure employees have the resources, tools, equipment, materials, and information needed to perform their work effectively
•    Recruit, train, coach, and develop employees to support operational needs and improve performance
•    Design, develop, and deliver technical training for field employees, as required, and evaluate employee competency and readiness for field deployment
•    Monitor the condition and operational readiness of field vehicles, equipment, tools, and other assets and communicate maintenance or replacement needs
•    Support operational planning, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency
•    Other duties as assigned
 
Supervisory Job Duties: 
•    Carries out supervisory duties in accordance with the Company’s objectives, policies, and applicable laws.  Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, planning, assigning, and directing work, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing employee concerns, and partnering with Human Resources to resolve escalated employee matters.  
 
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
 
Education: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and industry-related experience
 
Experience: 
•    Seven years of progressive experience in wireless telecommunications construction 
•    Three years of leadership experience, including direct supervision of field employees 
•    Strong understanding of wireless telecommunications construction, project workflows, scheduling, and field operations
•    Experience coordinating teams, resources, schedules, and project priorities
•    Experience monitoring operational performance, productivity, quality, and resource utilization
•    Proven safety track record and working knowledge of OSHA and applicable telecommunications industry safety standards
•    Experience coordinating subcontractors and monitoring subcontractor performance in a field operations environment
•    OSHA 30 Construction Training Card
•    First Aid and CPR Certification
•    Other relevant certifications may be required as per the scope of work being performed (i.e. NWSA Certification, Hazcom Certification, Blood Born Pathogen Certification, RF Safety Certification etc.)
 
Technical Skills: 
•    Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
•    Ability to quickly learn and navigate customer portals, project management platforms, and other telecommunications industry software
•    Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and project documentation
•    Experience using construction management software, resource planning tools, or other operational systems 
•    Knowledge of wireless telecommunications equipment, construction methods, tools, and field practices

Physical Requirements: 
•    Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
•    Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
•    Ability to sit and work at a computer workstation for extended periods (6–8 hours per day)
•    Ability to walk, stand, climb, and navigate construction sites, including uneven terrain and elevated working areas 
•    Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds as required to perform field-related responsibilities  
•    Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and grasp materials and tools with both hands as required
•    Must be comfortable working at heights, and have the ability to climb stairs or ladders to access rooftops, water tanks, and other at-heights structures if required
•    Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots when required
•    May be required to work irregular or extended hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on business needs
•    Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional short-notice travel. Travel may be local or national, depending on business needs.
