Job description

Title: Project Manager – Commercial Doors, Frames & Hardware

Who We Are: United Contractor Services is a nationally operating specialty subcontractor delivering high-quality commercial interior buildouts across the country, with deep expertise in light gauge framing, Division 8, and Division 10 Specialties on large-scale commercial projects. Excellence, teamwork, and a drive to innovate are at the core of everything we do - and we're looking for people who bring that same standard to their work every day.

What You'll Be Doing: We're adding a Project Manager who specializes in commercial doors, frames, and hardware to our growing team. This isn't a back-office role - you'll be the central point of contact for clients, architects, and subcontractors, managing projects from preconstruction all the way through close-out. We want someone who brings both the technical knowledge to get it right and the communication skills to keep everyone aligned along the way. If you lead with energy, build relationships easily, and take ownership of outcomes, this role was built for you.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full project lifecycle for Division 8 and Division 10 Specialty scopes, from early preconstruction planning through final close-out.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring milestones are clearly defined and teams stay on track.
  • Own project budgets end-to-end - driving cost efficiency while protecting profitability at every phase.
  • Act as the primary relationship manager for clients and subcontractors, delivering responsive service and building trust at every touchpoint.
  • Proactively identify and address project risks before they become problems, keeping work moving and stakeholders informed.
  • Conduct site visits as needed to evaluate progress, support field teams, and reinforce a collaborative, high-performing job site culture.
  • Develop and guide project staff, setting a tone of accountability, positive energy, and solutions-first thinking.
  • Produce and manage thorough project documentation in compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards.

What You Need to Bring:

  • People Skills That Match Your Technical Skills: You're approachable, confident, and genuinely enjoy building professional relationships in a fast-moving environment.
  • Relevant Experience: 4+ years of project management experience in commercial construction, with direct, hands-on knowledge of door, frame, and hardware applications as they relate to UL listings, fire and building codes, ADA compliance, and life safety requirements. Division 10 Specialties experience is a strong plus.
  • Proven Leadership: You've led project teams before and know how to drive accountability, maintain morale, and push projects forward when things get complicated.
  • Technical Capability: Comfortable working in project management and estimating platforms; experienced reviewing shop drawings and submittals for hollow metal, wood doors, and finish hardware.
  • Client-First Orientation: You understand what clients need and deliver on it consistently - building the kind of repeat relationships that fuel long-term business growth.
  • Composure Under Pressure: You adjust quickly when conditions shift and keep your team focused and productive when the pace picks up.

What's Waiting for You: At United Contractor Services, your contributions are noticed, your voice carries weight, and your career has somewhere to go. We offer competitive compensation, a strong benefits package, and a seat at the table on some of the most interesting commercial construction projects happening across the country. This is a role for someone who's as invested in the team's success as they are in their own.

Apply Now - Let's Build Something Together. If Division 8 construction is your specialty and leading high-performing teams is your strength, we're ready to meet you. Submit your application today and take the next step with a company that's built for growth.
