Job Overview:
  • The client is seeking a Project Manager with extensive experience in server migration to cloud hosting. The Project Manager will oversee project scope, schedule, and budget, providing weekly or agreed-upon updates to VSP IT management. The role involves assisting the IT Division in responding to queries, coordinating tasks, and ensuring all stakeholders meet key deadlines.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the project scope, schedule, and budget for server migration to cloud hosting.
  • Report project progress to VSP IT management on a weekly basis or as required.
  • Collaborate with VITA and migration partners to address queries and coordinate tasks.
  • Ensure effective communication and engagement with all stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks and meet key deadlines.
  • Assist in project management of server migration, focusing on cloud hosting solutions.
  • Coordinate with IT Division staff and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Implement process optimization, best practices, and change management strategies.
  • Lead internal/external consulting activities and facilitate project-related meetings.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Project Management: 10+ years of experience managing complex projects, with a PMP Certification.
  • Server Migration & Cloud Hosting: Experience with server migration, specifically to cloud hosting platforms.
  • Network Infrastructure & Application Servers: Familiarity with network infrastructure and application servers, including Oracle and WebSphere (a plus).
  • Process Optimization & Change Management: Extensive experience with process optimization, best practices, and change management.
  • Applications Development: Minimum of five (5) years' experience and extensive knowledge in applications development.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal, oral/written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Microsoft Word & Excel: Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel (5+ years).
  • Team Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate teams of 3-4 people for projects lasting 6-12 months.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Oracle and Websphere application servers.
  • Knowledge of process optimization and change management methodologies.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage projects with multiple external partners.
Other Requirements:
  • Flexibility in adapting to changes in direction and priorities.
