Job description

About DESRI
DESRI (formerly D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments) is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. We have acquired or developed approximately 13 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 85 renewable energy projects in 24 states.
At DESRI, our culture is grounded in rigorous analytics and thoughtful risk-taking, with a strong emphasis on creativity, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement. We operate with lean teams that prioritize efficiency and minimize unnecessary bureaucracy, enabling individuals to take ownership and move quickly. We value open, constructive dialogue and believe it leads to better outcomes. Above all, we are driven to go the extra mile and support one another, fostering a collaborative environment built on accountability, integrity, and care.
About the role
We are seeking an Associate or Manager (title commensurate with experience) to join DESRI's team within the Project Management function. This role will work closely with internal teams across the U.S., as well as external partners and stakeholders, to support the execution of DESRI's renewable energy projects.
The candidate will be part of an inclusive, high-performing team responsible for advancing DESRI's portfolio of wind, solar, and energy storage projects. This role operates in a dynamic environment that values collaboration, ownership, thoughtful problem-solving, and attention to detail.
What you'll do
  • Partner with cross-functional project teams to support and streamline execution of renewable energy projects across development, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Provide project management support to senior PM leadership, helping drive accountability, coordination, and delivery across DESRI's project portfolio.
  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts (e.g., engineering, finance, legal) and external partners (e.g., EPCs, consultants) to resolve project challenges and drive issues to resolution.
  • Develop, maintain, and track detailed project schedules and key milestones across assigned projects.
  • Own and manage project tracking tools, dashboards, and reporting; ensure timely and accurate communication of project status to stakeholders.
  • Lead or support recurring project meetings, including preparing agendas, capturing key decisions, and tracking action items.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to initiatives that enhance project execution and team efficiency.
  • Support internal and external communications by drafting, refining, and formatting high-quality presentations, memos, and reports.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience in project management, renewable energy, infrastructure, or a related industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams in different time zones and with external partners.
  • At DESRI, we consider a wide range of factors to determine your compensation. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, location, skills, and experience. The expected annual base salary for this position is $100,000 - $160,000.
  • Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus, guaranteed in the first year of hire, and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, paid time off, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
