Job description

The Sr. Project Manager - Operations is responsible for leading and delivering cost reduction ("cost-out") initiatives across operations, engineering, and the product lifecycle. The role ensures that strategic cost optimization objectives are achieved while maintaining product quality, regulatory compliance, and supply continuity.  
This position will drive initiatives focused on margin expansion, value engineering, process efficiency, and supply chain optimization. The individual must be able to balance trade-offs between cost, quality, and timeline while upholding the highest standards of product safety and performance in a regulated medical device environment.
  • Lead operations projects focused on cost optimization, value engineering, design-to-cost, and process improvement.
  • Identify, prioritize, and deliver cost savings opportunities across manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and product design.
  • Develop and manage project plans, including scope, timelines, financial targets, resources, risks, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope while maintaining quality, compliance, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Procurement to assess and implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Analyze cost drivers, including BOM, labor, overhead, and supplier pricing, to support data-driven savings recommendations.
  • Drive supplier and product cost reduction initiatives while balancing cost, quality, performance, supply continuity, and compliance requirements.
  • Track and report savings metrics, forecasts, risks, barriers, and decisions to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure initiatives comply with Design Controls, QMS, and applicable regulatory standards while supporting Lean, Six Sigma, and scalable continuous improvement practices.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related technical field required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
 Experience:
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in medical device, healthcare manufacturing, or highly regulated industry.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years leading cross-functional programs or projects.
  • Proven experience leading cost reduction / cost-out initiatives and delivering measurable savings results.
Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Strong project leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage risk, and drive projects to completion.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level reporting and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analytics, visualization, and project management tools such as Smartsheet, Gantt charts, dashboards, and task management systems.
  • Strong financial acumen, including cost modeling, ROI analysis, and savings tracking.
  • Working knowledge of ISO standards, FDA regulations, Design Controls, and quality requirements within the medical device industry.
