Job Description:

HPE seeks an experienced Senior Director to lead the PMO for its Private Cloud & Flex Solutions. This critical leadership role involves managing a high-performing team of 25-30 program management professionals, overseeing the end-to-end execution of strategic initiatives, product lifecycles, and cross-functional programs that impact multiple product lines and global teams.

This role can be based in Houston, TX; Fort Collins, CO; or Andover, MA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and optimize the PMO governance, operating rhythms, and executive reporting to ensure predictable delivery and transparency.
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of products from conception through end-of-life, ensuring phase-gate discipline and accountability.
  • Partner closely with engineering, product management, sales, support, and supply chain to align priorities, manage dependencies, and mitigate risks.
  • Develop executive-ready dashboards, reports, and analytical tools to provide clear visibility into project health, risks, and business outcomes.
  • Drive continuous process improvements in dependency management, escalation procedures, and cross-BU coordination.
  • Represent the PMO in cross-functional planning forums, ensuring commitments and timelines are actively managed.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a global team, fostering a culture of execution, transparency, and customer focus.
Skills and Experience
  • Extensive experience in large-scale technical program management, product or engineering operations, or business operations within complex technology environments.
  • 5+ years of proven leadership managing managers, senior contributors, or distributed teams, preferably in cloud, software, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Proven track record of transforming or running a PMO in fast-paced, multi-product organizations.
  • Deep expertise in program governance, portfolio prioritization, risk management, dependency resolution, and executive reporting.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, agile methodologies, and cloud/software delivery practices.
  • Proficiency with PMO tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet, and related reporting platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred
  • Experience in B2B technology, cloud services, or infrastructure industries.
  • Proven track record of managing high-visibility, complex programs with global teams.

DirectorThe expected salary/wage range for this position is provided below. Actual offer may vary from this range based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training, and/or skill level.

– United States of America: Annual Salary USD 185,000 - 370,000 in Colorado // 200,000 - 400,000 in Massachusetts // 176,000 - 425,500 in Texas. The listed salary range reflects base salary. Variable incentives may also be offered.
