The South Texas Project Electric Generating Station is one of the newest and largest nuclear power facilities in the nation. Project Coordinator Staff/Supervisor
Summary
  • Responsible for complex activities related to assigned projects; ensures they are performed in accordance with approved procedures, guidelines, specifications and regulatory requirements and within specific established budgetary and schedule goals and commitments. Prepares scope of work documents and contractor monitoring plans. Monitors department and contractor activities for compliance with schedules, budgets and other requirements.

Special Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
  • Ability to perform field walk downs of work activities in the plant.
  • Ability to identify direct and support tasks necessary to successfully complete assigned project. Ability to manage contractor work activities. Thorough knowledge of performance measurement techniques.
  • Ability to monitor budget and schedule activities, as well as to identify unanticipated changes in budget and schedule and the impact of these changes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written). Ability to write clear, concise, and complete reports. Strong computer skills including the ability to use spreadsheet, database, and scheduling software.
  • Ability to coordinate several concurrent project activities. Ability to organize and conduct effective meetings regarding specific projects. Ability to develop milestone and integrated activity schedules.

Education - Staff
  • Associates degree in Construction Management, business or Engineering and 3 years' experience in nuclear, commercial or industrial construction/engineering, operations or maintenance which primarily focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling and cost control. (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business or Engineering. (Required)
  • Other: Without degree, 5 years' experience in nuclear, commercial or industrial construction/engineering, operation or maintenance which primarily focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling and cost control. (Required)

Experience - Staff
  • 2 Years + 4 years nuclear, commercial or industrial construction/engineering, operations or maintenance which focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling and cost control with a minimum of one year being nuclear experience. (Required)
  • 0 - 2 Years Five refueling outages at a commercial nuclear station as a Project Manager over a large project (>$2M) is equivalent to 4 years' experience. (Required)

Education - Supervisor
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, business or engineering. (Required)
  • In lieu of the above requirements, relevant experience will be considered.

Experience - Supervisor
  • 8 Years + experience in nuclear, commercial or industrial construction/engineering or maintenance focused on project management, contractor management, scheduling and cost control, with a minimum of 6 years nuclear experience. (Required)
  • 2 Years + coordinating complex projects. (Required)
  • 2 Years + supervisory experience. (Preferred)
