Job description

NSB Omega is searching for a Project Management Analyst for our Oil & Gas Client in Houston, TX.

***This is a temp-hire position. Ideally, the candidate would be considered for conversion after 6-months***

Job Summary

The Analyst, Project Management provides analytical, coordination, and administrative support to the Vice President of Capital Projects and LNG Technology and the Projects Group. The position supports capital project planning and execution by maintaining project information, developing management reports and presentations, tracking cost and schedule performance, coordinating action items and governance activities, and improving project management processes and systems. The Analyst works across multiple projects and interfaces with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, Procurement, Finance, HSE, contractors, and other stakeholders. The role supports project leaders and decision-makers and does not carry overall accountability for project execution.

Preferred Experience

Experience supporting executive management during brownfield and/or greenfield projects across front-end planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up, and closeout. Familiarity with operating-facility interfaces, Management of Change, stage-gate governance, FERC and PHMSA requirements, or LNG facilities is advantageous.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years of relevant experience in project management, project controls, engineering, construction, operations support, or business analysis. Candidates with up to ten (10) years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Industry Experience

Experience supporting capital projects in LNG, oil and gas, petrochemical, refining, energy, industrial, or similarly regulated facilities is preferred.

Location and Travel Information

This position is primarily based at the company headquarters in Houston, Texas, with periodic travel to company facilities in and near Freeport, Texas, including liquefaction and pretreatment facilities. Occasional travel to engineering contractor, vendor, supplier, or fabrication locations may be required. The incumbent must maintain a valid driver license and a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), as required to perform the essential functions of the job.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  • - Provide direct project management and business support to the Vice President of Capital Projects and LNG Technology and to the Projects Group.
  • - Prepare concise, accurate executive reports, dashboards, presentations, briefing materials, meeting packages, and decision-support analyses.
  • - Collect, validate, analyze, and consolidate project data related to scope, cost, schedule, progress, risk, change, procurement, staffing, and key performance indicators.
  • - Maintain project trackers, action-item logs, decision logs, risk and opportunity registers, change logs, governance calendars, and other project controls records.
  • - Support development and maintenance of project schedules, cost forecasts, cash-flow profiles, estimates, staffing plans, and resource forecasts in coordination with project managers and project controls personnel.
  • - Monitor project performance against approved baselines, identify variances and emerging trends, and escalation potential with fact-based analysis and recommended follow-up actions.
  • - Coordinate recurring project reviews, stage-gate activities, risk reviews, contractor performance reviews, and leadership meetings, including agendas, materials, minutes, actions, and closure tracking.
  • - Assist with development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Capital Project Execution work processes, procedures, templates, governance requirements, and quality systems.
  • - Support project document control and information management, including organization, version control, completeness checks, and timely distribution of project records and deliverables.
  • - Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to obtain required information, resolve data gaps, and support timely completion of project deliverables.
  • - Assist with contract, purchase order, invoice, commitment, and change-order tracking in coordination with Procurement, Finance, project controls, and project leadership.
  • - Perform research, benchmarking, data gathering, and preliminary analyses to support capital planning, business development screening, feasibility evaluations, and special assignments.
  • - Support Management of Change and applicable project governance and regulatory compliance activities by tracking required documentation, reviews, approvals, and closeout actions.
  • - Participate in site visits, field walkdowns, and data collection activities as needed while complying with all site safety requirements.
  • - Handle confidential and commercially sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
  • - Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • - Operates primarily in a professional office environment and may work within or adjacent to an operating industrial facility.
  • - Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and comply with all site access, safety, and security requirements.
Physical Demands
  • - Ability to drive to other company work locations as required.
