Job description

As the leader of project teams, the Project Manager will oversee a wide range of projects with a primary focus on IT-related projects including the implementation of a new data warehouse. This program is complex and will involve some challenging joint project team management. The successful candidate should be adept at developing and fostering positive relationships and able to manage the delicate balance between asserting one's authority with confidence and yielding as appropriate. Most importantly we are looking for someone that is resourceful, hardworking, confident and, above all, a problem solver. Critical skills for this position are the ability to understand the scope and deliverables of a project to prepare and track to a project plan, timeline and budget. The Project Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management of all aspects of a given project, including management of key stakeholders, implementation, control and evaluation of projects. This position also seeks to optimize internal processes and enhance project management standard operating procedures that govern the life cycle of projects.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan
o Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
o Determine the resources (time, cost, personnel, etc.) required to complete the project
o Review the project scope, resources and schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
- Implement
o Execute the project according to the work plan
o Ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
o Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion
o Establish a communication plan to update stakeholders on the progress and mitigate or escalate project-related risks
o Manage key stakeholders including internal subject matter experts, clients and vendors
o Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures as required
- Evaluate
o Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, consistent with the contract and at the required level of quality
o Evaluate the outcomes of the project based on the objectives and measures established during the planning phase
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, PMP certification highly desired, as is the ability to adapt and comply with internal project management standards and practices.
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience as a project manager for relevant IT enterprise projects, specifically Data Warehouse builds/implementations, and at least one year of personnel management
- Ability to document systems and business requirements and create technical documentation and artifacts
- Proven experience to: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness; Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization; Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details/data/information/activities; Solve problems by assessing problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
- Must be highly flexible, organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills
- Must possess strong English communication and writing skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to communicate and work cross functionally
- Requires a strong working knowledge of MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Experience working with Clarizen project management software is highly desired. LucidChart, JIRA and Salesforce a plus
- Additional duties may be assigned, either temporary or permanent based upon company needs
- Completion of GCP training (provided by Corrona)
