Job description

Advanced Space | Full-time | Onsite

We're going to the Moon. Think you've got what it takes?ย

About the Roleย

At Advanced Space, we're enabling humanity's return to the Moon and building the technologies that will take us to Mars and beyond. We're looking for a Sr. Project Manager with 8-12 years of experience to lead the successful execution of some of the most ambitious space missions in the industry.

In this role, you'll provide programmatic leadership across complex aerospace projects, partnering with engineering, operations, business development, customers, and executive leadership to ensure technical, schedule, cost, and mission objectives are achieved. You'll oversee project execution from proposal through delivery while helping shape the future of lunar exploration, national security missions, and next-generation space technologies.

We're looking for someone who thrives in fast-paced technical environments, enjoys solving complex program challenges, and is passionate about leading teams that are delivering real missions-not just concepts.

This position is open to U.S. Citizens only. Visa sponsorship is not available.

An active Top Secret security clearance is required.

About Advanced Spaceย

Advanced Space exists to enable the sustainable exploration, development, and settlement of space through innovative software, mission services, and technology solutions. As the owner and operator of NASA's CAPSTONE mission and the Prime Contractor for AFRL's Oracle mission, we're helping shape the future of cislunar exploration while supporting commercial, civil, and national security customers.ย

Our team combines deep technical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset. We move quickly, collaborate across disciplines, and empower every engineer to make meaningful contributions. If you're passionate about solving challenging problems and seeing your work fly in space, you'll fit right in.ย

What You'll Actually Doย

Lead complex aerospace programs.

Provide day-to-day leadership for technically challenging projects by balancing cost, schedule, performance, and risk throughout the full project lifecycle. Partner with engineering teams and leadership to ensure successful execution from proposal through delivery.

Drive project execution.

Develop and maintain integrated project schedules, monitor project performance, manage risks, and ensure critical milestones are achieved. Coordinate technical teams, customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to keep projects moving forward.

Manage program strategy and customer relationships.

Build trusted relationships with customers and partners while communicating project status, technical trades, risks, and recommendations. Support successful customer engagements and ensure project objectives remain aligned with mission priorities.

Strengthen project processes.

Develop basis-of-estimate (BOE) documentation, contribute to configuration management strategies, oversee change management activities, and help establish best practices that improve execution across the organization.

Support business growth.

Contribute to proposal development, author technical white papers and position papers, capture lessons learned, and help shape future programs that expand Advanced Space's mission portfolio.

Who Thrives Hereย

  • You have experience balancing technical performance, cost, schedule, and risk across multiple phases of project execution.
  • You have a strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices. PMP certification is a plus.

  • You're familiar with government contracting, FAR-based contracts, or the Defense Acquisition Framework.
  • You excel at communicating with customers, executive leadership, engineering teams, and government stakeholders.
  • You're comfortable making decisions in fast-paced environments while keeping both the strategic vision and day-to-day execution in focus.
  • You take ownership. When you see a challenge, you work with the team to solve it.ย
