Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for improving organizational execution through structured project management, operational accountability, and cross functional coordination across the Verdes organization.

This role serves as a central operational resource responsible for driving strategic and operational initiatives from planning through implementation. The Project Manager will build and maintain the systems, workflows, documentation standards, reporting structures, and project management processes that support consistent execution across departments.

This position plays a critical role in helping Verdes scale effectively by creating operational structure, improving visibility into organizational priorities, reducing workflow fragmentation, and ensuring projects remain on schedule and aligned with company goals.

The Project Manager will partner closely with leadership teams across retail operations, wholesale, production, facilities, marketing, IT, finance, HR, and executive leadership to improve communication, implementation discipline, and organizational accountability.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, operationally disciplined, systems oriented, and comfortable creating structure in a fast paced and evolving environment. This individual must be capable of managing multiple concurrent initiatives while holding teams accountable to timelines, deliverables, and documented processes.

Core Responsibilities

Project & Implementation Management

Manage a portfolio of concurrent operational and strategic projects across multiple departments while ensuring projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Develop and maintain project plans including timelines, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, implementation schedules, ownership assignments, and risk tracking.

Lead project intake, prioritization, scoping, and resource coordination processes in partnership with department leadership.

Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, bottlenecks, resource conflicts, or communication gaps before they impact execution.

Coordinate cross functional initiatives involving retail operations, wholesale, production, facilities, marketing, IT, HR, finance, and executive leadership.

Manage implementation timelines for operational initiatives including store openings, remodels, system rollouts, process implementations, operational improvement initiatives, and other strategic company projects.

Coordinate vendors, contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders tied to operational projects and implementation efforts.

Conduct project closeout reviews including documentation of outcomes, lessons learned, implementation effectiveness, and process improvement opportunities.

Process, Systems & Operational Infrastructure

Build and maintain scalable project management systems, workflows, templates, SOPs, documentation standards, dashboards, and reporting structures that improve organizational execution and accountability.

Develop standardized tools and implementation frameworks for recurring operational initiatives, project rollouts, leadership updates, meeting structures, and status reporting.

Design and maintain project tracking systems that provide leadership visibility into project status, completion percentages, priorities, dependencies, and resource allocation.

Establish and maintain operational KPIs, implementation benchmarks, and reporting standards that support data driven decision making and organizational accountability.

Continuously improve project management methodologies, workflow organization, communication standards, documentation practices, and operational processes.

Train team members and department leaders on project management systems, workflows, reporting expectations, and operational standards.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools including Excel, Teams, and SharePoint

Cross Functional Coordination & Leadership Support

Partner with leadership teams to improve operational alignment, implementation consistency, communication flow, and organizational follow through.

Prepare executive level project updates, implementation summaries, operational reporting, presentations, and status updates related to strategic initiatives.

Coordinate meetings related to operational initiatives including agenda creation, documentation, action item tracking, and follow up accountability.

Draft and manage cross functional communications related to operational priorities, implementation updates, project execution, and organizational initiatives.

Maintain organized project documentation, implementation records, vendor information, operational procedures, and organizational reference materials.

Support organizational planning and operational improvement initiatives by helping create visibility, structure, and accountability across departments.

Escalate missed deliverables, timeline risks, unresolved bottlenecks, and workflow breakdowns to leadership when necessary to maintain execution standards.

Key Qualifications

Required

Associate's Degree or higher in Business Administration, Operations Management, Project Management, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in project management, operations management, business operations, implementation management, or a related operational role.

Experience working in a multi site operational environment.

Experience coordinating cross functional organizational initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and departments.

Experience implementing or improving operational systems, workflows, project management tools, reporting structures, or organizational processes.

Strong organizational, analytical, and process management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing leadership facing updates, implementation reporting, and operational documentation.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities in a fast paced and evolving operational environment.

Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure.

Proficiency with project management and workflow platforms such as Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, or similar systems.

Preferred

PMP or CAPM certification.

Experience in cannabis or another highly regulated industry.

Experience supporting operational scaling efforts or organizational transformation initiatives.

Experience building project management infrastructure in a growing organization.

Experience creating KPI dashboards, implementation reporting systems, or operational workflow standards.

Physical and Emotional Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, 8 - 10 hours multiple days in a row
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a confined area.
  • Must be able to bend/stoop/climb/reach
  • Must be able to present complex information to groups of people
  • Must be able to be physically present in the wholesale locations and administrative office

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience, certifications, and demonstrated success managing cross functional operational initiatives.
