Job description

Tri-City Group is currently seeking a Project Engineer for an immediate opening in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Project Engineer is responsible supporting project teams with on-site administrative and technical coordination across a mission-critical hyperscale project.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support procurement of major equipment packages and track submittals
  • Maintain equipment tracking logs and monitor lead times and delivery schedules
  • Package and submit vendor data in compliance with project specifications
  • Assist with shop drawing reviews and submittal processes
  • Track subcontractor progress and ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Coordinate logistics for equipment delivery, storage, and installation
  • Support QA/QC, commissioning, and project documentation tracking
  • Assist with purchasing, subcontract agreements, and equipment coordination
  • Attend jobsite meetings and support field coordination efforts
  • Assist with testing documentation, owner training, punch list tracking, and project closeout

Qualifications:
  • 1 year of construction experience, preferably in project coordination
  • Familiarity with construction documents, submittals, and project workflows
  • Experience with tools such as Procore, or Bluebeam (preferred)
  • Strong organizational and documentation management skills

Candidates must possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. This includes effective communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors to keep projects moving forward efficiently.
